TIME'S UP

“TIME’S UP!” by Cordell Mitchell Jr.

“Time…
The distance between finish and start;
It’s needed to travel from mark to mark;
And for April to get to March…
Time…
It’s the only way that we age;
It connects our birth to the grave;
And we ge millinniums from seconds and days…
It’s Over…
Time is up for our immaturity;
Grow up as we’re breaking free;
we were created for eternity…
There comes a Time…
Where we leave in the past our childishness;
I’ve heard that ignorance is a bliss;
Allow wisdom to be our compliment…
There was a 19 year old girl;
Who had her whole life planned out.
She had NO reason to pout;
Because success was in her route.
Her friend;
Invited her to hear an evangelist speak;
When asked, “WHO WANTS TO RECEIVE SALVATION?”
She felt something pulling her to her feet;
But she kept her seat…
Resisting God’s invitation in;
She said, “I’LL HAVE PLENTY OF TIME FOR THAT.”
She still had rules that she wanted to bend…
The next night, she felt the same pull;
But she again stayed down.
She thought, “There will be another Time;
Where God asks me to allow Him to save me from death.”
She pulled out the parking lot;
Her windows shattered;
And she felt her steering wheel in her chest.
Her car skid out of control;
And she slammed into someone else;
The impact killed her instantly;
Even though she was wearing her seat belt…
“I’LL HAVE PLENTY OF TIME FOR THAT!”
Those were the last words that she spoke;
Not knowing that eternity was knocking at her door…
SHE HAD NO TIME…
To think about GOD,
ETERNITY,
DEATH,
JUDGEMENT,
Or HER SOUL;
And when she see God at those pearly gates;
She can’t say that she didn’t know.
TIME is a precious gift from God;
Yet it has NO guarantees;
After I received Time;
God used Time;
To bring me to my knees…
Life is uncertain…
Death usually happens SO suddenly…
I refuse to have the phrase,
“IT’S TOO LATE!”
To haunt ME for eternity…
TIME… IS NOW!!!”

  1. That was a great depiction of how people get caught up in wasting precious time. Life is uncertain and not to be taken lightly. For surely one day death is going to knock on your door. Will you be ready? Accept Christ today, don’t be like the girl in the car wreck.
