Hello, my name’s Will. Thanks for taking the time to learn about me, let me share a little more. I was born a Buckeye, but consider myself “Texas bred,” with the Rio Grande Valley the place I consider home. Right out of high school I joined the Army where I spent about 9 1/2 yrs. traveling the world, taking in the sights, experiencing new cultures and making tons of memories. Cooking is my passion. Being a “Foodie” at heart from a young age, I made it my mission to collect some recipe’s during my travels and I most definitely look forward to enjoying the tastes of Europe and the Mediterranean once again after I’m released.
Growing up along the Texas/ Mexican border combined with an extended deployment to Germany gave me a good working knowledge of both Spanish and German. During my incarceration I’ve put the Spanish to good use, teaching both entry level and intermediate levels, as well as ESL to native Spanish speakers as a way to pass the time in a positive and constructive manner.
Before prison I earned a living as a carpenter, building homes, additions and decks and now I’ve added being a certified welder and metal fabricator to the list of ways I can build on a career. Creating beautiful and functional things out of wood and various types of steel is my bread and butter, which is why having my own little shop to work out of one day is my long term goal. That goal is getting closer & closer with my release in the late summer of 2029 now just around the corner. I’m looking forward to grilling out with family and friends, weekend camping trips, visits to National parks and finding new 4 legged furry friends. Cats and dogs are simply the best!
