My name is David and doing art in prison has been one of the best pursuits of my life. I started tattooing and eventually moved on to learning to paint in acrylic and oils. I revisited drawing in pencil and charcoal. Depending on the medium, my style varies. I may be attempting to faithfully represent someone in portrait or just making marks and playing with colors, because it feels good. I have taken many portrait commissions and prefer to do so in charcoal and pencil mostly.
