Where's Our Voice?

Where’s Our Voice?

Who will speak up for us, tell the powers that be, the people in charge, that our debt has been paid? That enough time has been given, it’s time to release us.

When will our actions be enough to prove that we have changed, learned from our past choices and mistakes, that we are remorseful and redeemed?

You say that you’re our family and friends, that you love us, care about us and are here for us. So when will you be our voices and speak up for us? As our voices fall on deaf ears, like we aren’t speaking at all.

Without changes to the current laws that allow this system to hold us indefinitely, we will continue to live in this cold concrete box, not knowing IF or when our release will come…

Some cultures believe it takes a village to raise a child. Well I believe that it’s going to take a village to speak up and change the criminal justice and parole systems
