The first step to knowing who we are in relationship to God is to know how God views us. In other words How does God see me as a human being when He looks at me? The only answer to this question is found in the word of God, and not from a human view point. God word makes it clear that He view us with Love (John 3:16, Matthew 18:1-14) and many other scriptures affirms how God view us and assures us that He is for us, but knowing our self as known by God should force us to acknowledge the reality of our own personal sin. When we understand who we are, and how God sees us , having this understanding should cause you and me to look into a mirror and realize the reality of our sin. It is the drawing of God that causes me to see the sinfulness of my own life, and once this process takes place or happens usually repentance and godly sorrow can begin the process of the new birth, which is an internal renewal of God spirit that manifests itself on the inside. Despite the mask that Christian pretenders wear in this world there is no facial expression that proves that the internal working of God is working inside of us, but the true working of God’s spirit reflects in the way that we do what is right according to God’s word, and not according to human reasoning.
God does not bring you to an understanding of yourself in order to make you a mindless robot without personality as some would have you believe, but God spirit refines our old selves into the man or woman that He intended us to be. IN-JOY
