communicate with someone in prison.

communicate with someone in prison

My dad asked me why people out there with their own lives would want to write and communicate with someone in prison. And why I would want to talk to a random person out there.

I told him people get lonely and sad out there as easily as someone in here. Sometimes you can be surrounded by people you’ve known all your life an still feel unseen , unheard, or that the people around them wouldn’t understand what they feel, or why they feel that way. It’s nice to have someone completely outside your life to confide in, someone objective.

What does it matter who it is that listens? Does it matter where they are? Humans need to be heard, seen, and acknowledged. Want to be wanted.

Thank you.
