Life today can be extremely difficult. Problems often challenge us. We worry about jobs, bills, our children’s future and where the world will shift in the next 20 to 30 years from now. It’s really easy to fall into the trap of taking ourselves too seriously or measuring ourselves up amongst people we feel are successful. Sometimes we can lose ourselves in worrying about material things, thriving careers, 1,000 likes on social media, acceptance, image, weight and so on. It’s really easy to forget the simple ways of really enjoying your friends or family, or simply interacting with the world.
True friendship keeps us balanced in a difficult world. It renews our perspective on how we view life and how we want to share our lives with one another. It enables us to recapture joy and understand our purpose in life. We are the most appealing to the world and happiest within – “when we are completely our true selves”. When we have true friendships and real support where our peers accept us as we are. That’s the balance we should strive for. The simple pleasure of laughter is how we enjoy life and one another. Do you have balance in your life?
